Itinerary

04:00 a.m. – Hotel Pickup in Cusco

We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and begin our journey through the South Valley of the Andes.

06:00 a.m. – Breakfast in Pitumarca

After about a 2-hour drive, we arrive in Pitumarca where you will enjoy a buffet breakfast while preparing for the adventure ahead.

07:00 a.m. – Stop in Checacupe (Three Historic Bridges)

We continue toward Checacupe, a town famous for its three bridges representing different historical periods:

Inca Bridge (1448): Made of braided straw and part of the Qhapaq Ñan, attributed to the Inca Wiracocha.
Colonial Bridge: Built in the 16th century with stone, reflecting Spanish colonial architecture.
Republican Bridge: A metal bridge representing modern Peruvian engineering.

There will be time for photos before continuing the journey.

08:30 a.m. – Arrival at ATV Base (Ccairahuiri)

We arrive at our ATV base where the guide provides safety instructions and a short training session on how to operate the quad bikes.

09:00 a.m. – ATV Ride to Rainbow Mountain

Instead of hiking for about one hour uphill, you will ride an ATV for approximately 20 minutes through the Andean highlands to reach a point very close to Rainbow Mountain.

09:30 a.m. – Visit to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca)

Arrival at Vinicunca (5,036 m / 16,522 ft). The guide will explain the geography, ecosystem, and the mineral formations responsible for the mountain’s vibrant colors such as red, purple, green, pink, and yellow.

From here you will also enjoy impressive views of Apu Ausangate (6,384 m / 20,945 ft), the sacred mountain whose glaciers feed the Vilcanota River.

10:30 a.m. – ATV Descent to the Base

We ride the ATVs back down for about 20 minutes to the base where the vehicles are returned.

12:30 p.m. – Lunch

Transfer to a local restaurant where you will enjoy lunch after the excursion.

01:30 p.m. – Return to Cusco
04:00 p.m. – Arrival in Cusco

Drop-off at your hotel, ending the tour.
